Death came quietly.
Just like that.
Softly, gently.
Taking away our light of day.
The hand that protected,
The mind that guided,
The heart that loved,
The soul that gave peace.
Then everything stood still.
An empty space.
A silence.
In that silence we searched for our place
We learned to bid adieu
Accept that someone will not return.
A voice we won’t hear no more.
Yet that voice will speak
Forever in our hearts and our minds.
Opening up new ways to live, love and honor.
Beautiful, soothing words. A balm for the heart in pain. ❤️
This is simple and beautiful. I read your note sharing this life and death threshold experience. I've been there too, with my father in law as well. Caring for him in his last moments, it is such an honor. I wish you healing but having been there, the pain will is just there, you just learn to live with it somehow.
