Happy hips
Women have a real love hate relationship with their hips! For some big hipped women, they spend a lifetime battling with their hips. Some studies show that wide hips is a sign of good health and therefore better productive potential! Seriously?! That does not sound convincing at all especially when you are in the labor room and there is a skinny lady with a cute round tummy on the next bed about to deliver a baby. Her body deflates back to normal size within months and the big hipped ones are left looking large for life.
Another study says “hips are the junk drawer of the body.” What does that even mean? According to this study, the body stores all the negative emotions in the hips. The kind of emotions one doesn’t know how to deal with. For example life puts us through varying situations which leave long lasting impacts on us physically, mentally and emotionally. Moments that cause deep vulnerabilities like loss, sadness, fear. Unfulfilled desires make us feel frustrated and disheartened. Repetition of failures keeps us worried and feeling overwhelmed. Sexual abuse or molestation leaves long lasting impacts on the body and mind. Such negative energy flowing through the body is hard to handle so according to this study, the negative energy which the body doesn’t manage to deal with, gets stored in the hips. Hence the junk drawer term.
So does that mean all big hipped women have tons of negative energy and issues which are nicely stored and causing them to have that rounded heavy appearance while skinny women are problem free? The answer is pretty obvious. NO in caps lock! Big hips or small hips is all genetics and lifestyle. However, negative energy does impact the body.
When the body stores negative energy it disturbs the positive energy or what is referred to as the sustaining force of life that flows through us until our last breath. When the negative energy is running high the body reacts. We feel it in the forms of stiffness, loss of mobility, aches and pains or we develop certain disorders. These issues cause blockages in the positive energy or force of life that runs through our body. When you start to think your body isn’t what it once used to be, it’s because it changes and that causes disruption. However, our core can remain the same and strong if we pay attention to it. There are ways to release the negative energy which is causing stiffness or blockages in our flow.
The body is basically a machine. If it stays idle for long it becomes rusty and stiff. If it keeps moving it stays in order. When it is strained it malfunctions. When it isn’t serviced regularly it breaks down. For it to have a long productive life it must be maintained. Like we care for the machines that exist in our lives, if we pay attention to our bodies they will live long.
So back to the big hipped women. Stop fretting on the size of the hips and rather focus on the energy that is flowing through the body. Be aware of the strains and the reasons for it. While it may not be possible to erase all the reasons, there are ways to ease the strain. Stretching the hip muscles in the right way releases negative energy. Regularly exercising those muscles will enable a smoother flow of energy through the body. Basically, will help reduce the load of the blockages. Whether the exercise will help reduce the size of your hips, there is no guarantee. One thing is for sure though, paying attention to those hip muscles will make them stronger. Less stiff. More stable. Fewer aches and pains. Happy hips.😀
